After decades of drought, the American West is stretched to the breaking point. A changing climate and design flaws in the Glen Canyon Dam have pushed the once-massive Lake Powell reservoir to the brink of collapse — putting millions of people at risk who depend on the Colorado River for water, agriculture, and electricity.

The American Southwest is a family-friendly wildlife movie that takes viewers on an unforgettable journey down the mighty Colorado River. Like many of the trails within the Glenwood Canyon, the Grizzly Creek trail was heavily damaged by the Grizzly Creek wildfire in 2020 and the subsequent flooding during the summer of 2021. For the first time since 2021, RFOV volunteers will return to the Grizzly Creek Trail to start a new chapter in our long history of stewardship on this unique canyon route.
